How we help Box Hill

To keep things focused, we work across five core areas. Click any of them below for a Box Hill-specific page on how we handle that type of matter.

Traffic Offences → From drink driving and speeding through to licence appeals and P-plater suspensions. As a rule, Parramatta or Windsor Local Court hears these.

Criminal Law → Above all, we focus on protecting your record and your future, whether it’s assault, AVOs, drug offences, theft or a first-time charge.

Family Law → Separation, divorce, parenting, property settlements and consent orders. Above all, we keep things calm, quick and child-focused.

Conveyancing → House-and-land packages, off-the-plan apartments and townhouses, brand-new builds across the Box Hill Precinct and Gables, and standard residential resales. In each case, fixed-fee from the first call.

Wills and Estates → Wills, powers of attorney, enduring guardianship, probate and, where needed, estate disputes.

Why Box Hill locals choose us

First, we’re local — and in the same shire. Our Bella Vista office is around a 15-minute drive from Box Hill, straight down Windsor Road. Importantly, Box Hill sits in The Hills Shire, the same LGA we’ve been working in for years. As a result, we know the council, we know the planning context for the North West Priority Growth Area, and we appear regularly at Parramatta, Windsor and Blacktown Local Courts — so by the time your first appearance comes around, it isn’t anyone’s first day.

Second, we’re small enough to care. From start to finish, you’ll speak to the principal solicitor on every matter — not a different paralegal each call. In most cases, clients reach us within a business day. Beyond that, we offer after-hours appointments when work or family makes business hours impossible.

Finally, we’re upfront on cost. Wherever the matter allows, we offer fixed-fee quotes. Otherwise, you’ll get a clear written estimate before any work begins. Either way, no surprise bills.

About the suburb we serve

Box Hill is, quite literally, one of Sydney’s newest suburbs. The area has been farmland since the 1820s — Box Hill House and the old Box Hill Inn on Windsor Road both date back to the colonial era. However, the precinct only became urban-zoned in 2013. Since then, the population has grown from under 1,000 people in 2016 to over 6,400 by 2021. By the time the precinct finishes building out, Box Hill is projected to be home to more than 42,000 residents across 13,000-plus dwellings. In other words, it’s a suburb being built from the ground up.

In terms of who lives there now, the demographic skews young, professional and family-focused, with a notably multicultural mix. In particular, large and growing Hindu and South Asian communities sit alongside long-established Anglo-Australian, Filipino and European families. The median age is around 32. In addition, two-income households are the norm, mortgages are substantial, and owner-occupiers hold almost 80% of homes — unusually high for a release area, which tells you something about the kind of buyer Box Hill attracts. Consequently, the work we see from Box Hill reflects that mix. For instance, conveyancing on brand-new builds and off-the-plan contracts, family law matters involving real assets and superannuation, and wills for young families with young children and a fresh mortgage. In addition, the traffic matters that come with a car-dependent suburb on Windsor Road.

Getting to us from Box Hill

Our office is in Bella Vista, an easy run from Box Hill down Windsor Road.

By car — around 15 minutes via Windsor Road. Free parking on site. By Metro — drive to Tallawong or Bella Vista Metro and we’re a one-minute walk from the Bella Vista platform. By phone or video — alternatively, we offer phone and video consultations for any matter, plus after-hours appointments where needed.

In short, for Box Hill clients, we’re one of the closest experienced Hills Shire firms you can reach.

Suburbs we service near Box Hill

Beyond Box Hill, we regularly help clients across Gables, Rouse Hill, Nelson, North Kellyville, Kellyville, Kellyville Ridge, The Ponds, Riverstone, Beaumont Hills, Bella Vista, Norwest and the wider Hills and Hawkesbury LGAs. Not sure if we cover your suburb? In that case, just give us a call.

Frequently asked questions: courts, fees and appointments

Which court will my Box Hill matter be heard at? Generally, Parramatta Local Court or Windsor Local Court hears most Local Court matters from Box Hill, depending on the type of matter and how it’s listed. For family law matters, however, we usually file in the Federal Circuit and Family Court at Parramatta. In any case, we appear at all three regularly.

Do you offer fixed fees? Yes, for simple matters. In particular, we fix-fee conveyancing, simple wills, powers of attorney, and many traffic and some low-level criminal matters from the first call. For more complex matters, we give a clear written estimate before any work begins.

How much does the first consultation cost? The first call is free. After that, longer consultations attract our standard rate, which we’ll tell you about upfront.

How quickly can I get an appointment? In most cases, we book clients in within one to two business days. That said, for urgent matters — bail, AVO listings, urgent parenting issues — we’ll see you the same day where we can.

Frequently asked questions: consultations and Box Hill conveyancing

Can I have an after-hours or weekend appointment? Yes. By arrangement, we offer evening and weekend appointments for clients who can’t make it in during business hours.

Do you offer phone or video consultations? Yes — for any matter. In fact, many Box Hill clients prefer phone or video for the first consult and only come into the office when documents need signing.

Do you handle house-and-land and off-the-plan conveyancing in Box Hill? Yes — and this forms a large part of our Box Hill work. We regularly act on house-and-land packages, off-the-plan apartments and townhouses, and brand-new builds across the Box Hill Precinct, Gables and the wider North West Priority Growth Area. Just as importantly, we know which developers are active in the corridor, what to watch for in their contracts (sunset clauses, defect rectification, strata schemes), and how to protect you between exchange and settlement on a build that might still be twelve months away from completion.

My block is in Box Hill but my paperwork says Nelson or Gables — what’s going on? In July 2020, the NSW Government carved out a portion of the original Box Hill area in the north into the new suburb of Gables. At the same time, small parts of Rouse Hill became part of Box Hill. If you’re not sure which suburb your block officially sits in, bring your contract or section 10.7 certificate to your first consult — we’ll work it out and make sure it’s right for your conveyancing, your will or your driver’s licence.

What if my matter isn’t in one of your five practice areas? Give us a call. If it’s not something we handle, then we’ll point you toward a local solicitor who does.
